It appears to me that the Trib is trying to slant and spin this so it looks like it is about ATV use " their favorite boogeyman" I made it very clear to Havnes that this case enjoys a very broad base of support from the public. He also is well aware that it was a group of 4x4 drivers that recieved the citation.
It would be really hard to determine where the bulk of the money has come from. U4 has obviously taken the lead on supporting this case. Our local club in our fundraisers has received donations from a wide range of people, some don't even own a 4x4 or ATV. I would guess that 4x4 groups have probably donated the most, but I know that ATV groups have stepped up on their own and donated quite a bit also.
I would prefer that they didn't use ATV or OHV at all in this story. I would like it to be seen as a broad base of citizens protecting their legal use of public lands.
