Topic: Barnwell Mountain Wheel-In Details

HI, y'all!!
John and I had a blast at Barnwell in spite of rain. We learned about Texas rain, Barnwell dirt (which stains clothing), and how to speak Texan. Oh, and best of all, we learned about the legendary Texas hospitality!! That's the best! Barnwell is laid out really well (we've had a little experience with OHV parks in PA) and Mother Nature supplies changes in the trails periodically.

Our Colorado Commando is starting to show it's age and its 4 wheeling experiences, but it still did well at Barnwell. Showed you young 'uns that us old kids and our old toys can keep up pretty darned good! And, it was so nice that we got to share this experience with our "old" United friends and our new friends, too.

We send our thanks to all who worked so hard to get this event off the ground. Y'all did a great job. Our special thanks to our trail guide and tail gunner. Todd and Drew are the best! Todd's directions ("driver/passenger") were great and something we're going to pass on to our club and association members. BFG choosing to present the award during this event and the sheriff getting a winning raffle ticket really was the icing on the cake.

Hey Luana,

Jeeperz Creeperz (Kevin Bentz), an Associate Business member of Great Lakes FWDA, and GLFWDA provided a Warn winch for a raffle at the UFWDA meeting.  Don't know if it was this one or not, but CONGRATULATIONS to ALL the winners!

Glad to hear ALL had a GREAT time at the Wheel In, wish we could have made the trip.

At least we were working for the cause.  Bob DeVore, other GLFWDA members and I just got back from LaPorte, IN, where we judged the Off RoadTruck Show & Shine event for the RPM 2009 Truck & Tractor Nationals.  We spent two days registering trucks, handed out 40+ trophys and provided information to the drivers/owners about GLFWDA, IFWDA and UFWDA.  

AND I SHOULD ADD, OTHER IFWDA FOLKS WERE WORKING HERE TOO!

Ruff Riders ran the mud racing event.

Iron Horse ran the Tug of War event.

Good event ... lots of ACTION!

Great Time at the Texas Wheel-In.  My first UFWDA event to be at.  I agree with others, nice to meet all and look forward to wheelin' with all again.

Next year will be bigger and better.

And yes, Texas Weather - if you don't like it, wait 5 minutes and it will change.
